We really need more hotliners! If you’d like to connect neighbors with the resources they need, consider becoming a hotliner!
We especially need more volunteers who can speak Spanish or Haitian Kreyol but these extra language skills are not required!
Help manage the hotline by texting, emailing, or calling our neighbors back! Neighbors can text, email, or leave voicemails with the hotline to request support, offer resources, and to learn about or connect with the MAMAS network.
Responsibilities: Respond to neighbors who email, call or text us. Connect neighbors with MAMAS programs or external resources, expand access to resources offered in limited languages, or help organize other volunteers to meet a neighbor’s need (e.g. removing a window AC unit or finding and transporting a bed). Log new calls and contacts, archive older call logs, and contact information; manage scheduling, participate in periodic admin committee meetings
Skills Required: A computer, internet access, a phone to make calls, and a friendly and problem solving attitude. Additional training provided. Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole language capacity useful but not required.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours a week, but flexible based on availability
